5 Youtube experiences to brighten your week...

Why hello there readers! The Paralympics have come to an end, despite soothing my post-Olympics blues for a short period, and I once again feel lonesome. However, perhaps an even better antidote has just arrived for you courtesy of this wonderful list of Youtube Videos.

This time around I’ve gathered clips that reveal the riches of first class air travel; show off the natural beauty of Mars; underline the dangers of jumping into swimming-pools; highlight the skill of a canoeist; and shed some light on automotive fanatics….

Enjoy!

5. First Class Travel…Wow!

The fellow making this video is one lucky son of a gun! He flies from Bangkok to Hong-Kong, first class, on an A380 Super Jumbo.

I thought first class would be swanky, but this is just ridiculously opulent – he can press a button to pull the blind over his window. To pull a blind over his tiny, tiny window he was given a button; unbelievable. And that’s not even the start.

I won’t divulge any of the treats, passwords or perks that pack this 7 minute Youtube video, I’ll let you take it all in.

4. Curiosity Descent in HD

This is stunning. It’s the Curiosity Mars Rover descent footage interpolated from around four frames per second to 25 frames per second. Its as smooth a video of the descent as you will ever find, and its the most high resolution video around too.

The beauty of nature, science and space in one tidy little clip!

3. Diving Disaster

Here we have a film producer stepping into the shoes of a presenter, and things take a turn for the worse!

He is tasked with jumping from a 10 meter diving board, nothing too fancy then.  The video shows him jumping from heights approaching 10 meters, all of them successful, all of them filling the viewer with the utmost confidence in his abilities….

2. Freestyle Canoeing

The man in this video, the canoeist, is clearly very talented. But lets face it; all he does is float around on a lake, spinning his green vessel in circles whilst wearing a smart dinner jacket.

To top it all off? He has an audience, there are cameramen (many more than is justified in my opinion) and after each and every – identical – spin they applaud ever so gently.

This is surreal, but funny.

1. Short Documentary: Sleepers

I’m not a car nut, but I was gripped by this short documentary. It transcends the relatively niche world of automotive enthusiasts because it’s the story of “the strong silent type” as Tony Soprano would say.
