We take a look at the best showcased games at Gamescom this year.

Capcom
Capcom were the first conference shown at the event, delivering a selection of trailers for upcoming titles on current consoles. The headline of the show was the newly announced IP, Remember Me. Developed by Dontnod Entertainment, the trailer tells the story of Nilin, an amnesiac memory hunter in the Orwellian dystopian future of 2084. The game introduces Memory Mixing mechanics which allow the player to distort and remove memories of selected targets. However Nilin discovers that her former employer Memoryeyes has erased her own memories, and she must discover the truth behind the conspiracy. The city of Neo-Paris has an impressive cyberpunk theme with spectacular design. Overall it seems like an intriguing game to look out for next year.
Next up was DmC: Devil May Cry, the reboot of the popular Devil May Cry series. Although somewhat controversial due to character redesign, the game actually shows quite a lot of promise in terms of character development and style. Ninja Theory showcased a brand new boss battle where Dante takes on demonic news anchor Bob Barbas, who has been brainwashing the residents of Limbo City with unholy propaganda. Capcom also released a brand new trailer, revealing one of the series' main antagonists and Dante's half-demon brother, Vergil, as the two sons of Sparda work to rid the world of Hell's corruption.
Resident Evil 6 was also a big-hitter at the show. Capcom's Gamescom presentation showed series newcomer Jack Muller, son of the infamous Albert Wesker, being pursued by the Umbrella Corporation's minions. Along with companion Sherry Birkin, Jake hold off against the deadly J'avo pursuers out for his blood. Capcom also demonstrated ResidentEvil.Net, a free web app that allows players to track their progress and high scores against their friends and the world, complete with Facebook and Twitter integration. Attendants also got some hands-on time with missions from the game's three different campaigns featuring Jake, Leon and Chris as they rush to save the world from bioterrorist attack.
Finally, Capcom gave us a sneak peak into Street Fighter X Tekken for Playstation Vita. The game will take advantage of all the features the Vita has to offer, including touchscreen and rear touchpad integration, collectible player costumes using Near functionality, and full wi-fi support. Street Fighter X Tekken will also offer Cross-Platform Play for PS3 and Vita users, allowing then to play and compete against each other on either platform seamlessly.
