Half Life 3 appears on Gamescom Press Product List
| NEWS - VIDEOGAME NEWS |
A press release list on the Gamescom website has been made available, with a few surprising additions. Plus, Gamescom live streaming links inside!

Among the titles listed, the eagerly-anticipated Half Life 3 makes an appearance near the bottom of the list. Fans have been waiting for the next instalment for around 5 years; whilst there have been various rumours and speculations over the years as to the release date, Valve have remained very secretive over the project and refused to give any information.
Valve have been busy lately, working on Counter Strike: Global Offensive and DOTA2, both of which are due out within the next few months. A massive update to Team Fortress 2 has also been announced, featuring “Horde Mode” - co-op play against AI-controlled robots. Recently an update for Left 4 Dead 2 was also released, featuring a brand new campaign and ports of the campaigns from the first game.
While we have been let down before for getting on the Half Life 3 hype train, with this document seemingly coming from the official Gamescom website, it's hard not to get excited. Although we're somewhat suspicious of the list itself; several games have been listed incorrectly, mispelled, or appear more than once – even under different publishers. For example, Konami have listed “Metal Gear Solid Snake Revangance”, Paradox Interactive's “A Game of Dwarves” and “Starvoid” both appear twice, and “Shadow Company: The Mercenary War” is listed under both Nexon and Nordic Games.
Another inconsistency with the list is the fact that several already-released titles make an appearance, including Catherine, Lord of the Rings Online, and even Train Simulator 2012 – all of which have been released for at least the last 6 months in Europe. Our best guess is that these are possibly ports, although to what platform remains to be seen.
Other titles to look out for at the event include – the promising Bioshock Infinite, Arma 3, Resident Evil 6, Crysis 3, Dragon Age 3, Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, Borderlands 2, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed 3, Planetside 2, ZombiU, and LEGO Lord of the Rings.
Be sure to keep up with all the latest Gamescom information and follow the Gamescom live streams: EA goes live at 3PM GMT, and Sony are coming up at 6PM, with Ubisoft's presentation scheduled for 2PM tomorrow.
