"I'll be back!"...in two weeks time, with five more Youtube wonders...

Did I outdo myself? I’m not too sure; it’s probably too close to call. That’s a lie, I definitely did outdo myself – just watch clip No.3 and you’ll be in stitches!

This fortnight I have collected together a fine clowder (I know it’s a word for a group of cats, but I‘m in a rebellious mood) of Youtube clips. And not one of them features a cat! There’s a hilarious advert; unfortunate attempt to recite Shakespeare; a challenging ascent; yet more Arnold Schwarzenegger quotes; and finally, a marvelous short film.

Tuck in!

5. Sticky Buddy Dub [NSFW]

The Sticky Buddy is a reusable lint roller that, according to this advert can be used on pets, clothing, human hair and carpets. Which is fair enough right? Except that this advert depicts an old lady rolling the device over her pet dog and inspecting the impressive quantity of hair trapped by the device, before proceeding to smile inanely and attempt to use it to comb her hair. As I said before: ludicrous.

So we have a weird advert that’s just ripe for some sort of satire – oh wait, what have we got here? A hilarious voice over to accompany the advert? You bet!

It’s the funniest thing I’ve watched in months and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

4. Robocoaster Challenge

In this gloriously unique clip Tom Scott recites the Prologue of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet whilst riding “England’s only robocoaster”. Sounds educational and exciting! It is neither; its hilarious.

Just before he is flung around to within an inch of his consciousness, our protagonist informs us that he “hates rollercoasters”, which is lucky for him since he’s about to ride a robocoaster!

3. A Drunken Mans Everest

Am I cruel to include this clip in the list? To expose this poor fellow to even more ridicule? No, I didn’t think so – its just harmless fun.

Anyway, I bet you’re wondering what all the fuss is about (if you haven’t already clicked play). This clip features a horrendously intoxicated student attempting, and repeatedly failing, to walk up a gentle incline. Of course, this clip wouldn’t be half as funny if his many failures, and valiant attempts, weren’t enjoyed and applauded by a vast swathe of less-intoxicated people.

2. The Other 130 Greatest Arnold Schwarzenegger Quotes

I’m sure everyone has seen the now legendary 160 Greatest Arnold Schwarzenegger Quotes Youtube clip – but have you seen the other 130 great Arnie quotes? If not, you’ll love this self-explanatory clip from the maker of the first 160!

My favourite quotes from this edition are, in no particular order, “show them how to throw the discus”, and “Go ahead, won’t show on this shirt”. I know they’d probably make more sense put into some kind of context, but I don’t want to spoil the clip for you. Aren’t I generous?

1. No Escape

The number one position has evolved as the months have gone by. At first it was reserved for feel-good clips – but new and original ones are hard to come by.
So now, partly due to convenience but mostly down to the sheer quantity of quality short films on Youtube, this berth also accommodates short films.

This particular one is inspired by the popular Valve video-game series Portal. I, like millions of fans, am desperate to see a live-action rendition of the series hit the big screen (despite the distinct lack of decent video-game inspired movies) and I think this is the closest we’ll ever get anytime soon.
