'Prometheus' HD trailer continues to look familiar...

Some things are what they used to be in Ridley Scott's new kinda-but-not-really Alien prequel...

Okay. I've already said my piece about the fact that Fox is marketing what we are told is a xenomorph-free Alien movie from Ridley Scott - Prometheus. Admittedly the much-awaited HD trailer has made a few minor changes in respect to the previous one, heralding back slightly less to the 1979 cinema trailer. The original 'scream' sound is still there (see link above, or at the end of this article), however, but this new 2min+ trailer does contain a lot of non-familiar imagery from the Alien franchise.
On the other hand...

Interestingly a good look at the Prometheus ship reveals something of a resemblance to one of Alien concept artist Ron Cobb's early vision of the doomed spaceship in Ridley Scott's horror/SF classic, then called 'The Snark'...

This is not a Prometheus hate piece. Please don't gather shouting 'Burn him!', Python-style. Prometheus looks fantastic. But it does look familiar. And, I maintain, if it's xenomorph-free, I kind of feel like I might get to lick the icing without ever eating the cake. I stand to be pleasantly surprised.
By the way, I haven't flipped any of the above shots - do you notice how many of them 'mirror' each-other...?
Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' opens on June 8th in the US

I hadn't noticed all those instances, but there is also the pic where they seem to be standing next to a dark shaft in a circular room.
There is of course the ampule/egg chamber similarity. Although I'm hoping that will tie into the story when it comes out.
There is a segment on one of the trailers right before the "goo finger" where something seems to be wiggling around on top of one of the ampules that seems to harken back to the reversed drips on the egg.
And I'm not sure why they've got flame throwers other then they've become associated with Alien.
I've never heard of that being standard equipment for anything other then jungle warfare like Vietnam.
But hey, if you have to steal steal from the best right?!
:)
Its gonna be the best Alien knockoff since Alien!
