Ask Joss Whedon about The Cabin in the Woods and more!

Plus new UK quad poster...

Fan favourite writer-director Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse) has several films set to come out in 2012, and the first of these, The Cabin in the Woods, hits UK screens in just over two months’ time. If that wasn’t enough to get Whedonites doing the Dance of Joy, we’ve just heard that, ironically enough, he’ll be answering fan questions on the uber-secretive flick. Numfar, do the Dance of Thinking Up Intelligent Questions! Or just hilariously stupid ones. You know, whatever.
After last week’s The Avengers Twitter webchat, Joss Whedon will be back in question-answering mode. Yes, the man is honing his procrastination skills. But he deserves a quick break, after the stunning Super Bowl spot for the film. (Okay, he probably didn’t edit it himself, but the footage is the footage. And it looks spectacular, on a Michael Bay scale.) But while The Avengers looks to reconstruct the superhero genre (with Nick Fury declaring: “I still believe in heroes”), The Cabin in the Woods, on the other hand, looks to deconstruct the horror genre (with the poster confidently declaring: “You think you know the story. Think again.”).

In some kind of mega-combo-interview, Joss Whedon will answer the best of the questions posed by Shadowlocked and other sites. He’ll talk about The Cabin in the Woods, as well as any other topics you can throw at him (except for bunnies…), provided they’re deemed worthy. So that means they need to contain at least 127 varieties of awesome. If your question is asked, you’ll be credited.
So, what do you want to know about his past work, his upcoming projects, or the much buzzed-about (but in a secretive way) horror flick The Cabin in the Woods? That’s a huge swathe of potential inquiring-ness, spanning vampires, spaceships, singing supervillains, humans who act like robots, robots who act like humans, superheroes, lawyers, humour, wit, pathos, excitement, confusion, tension, awkwardness, happiness, sadness, more humour, life, love, friendship, destiny, free will, and good and evil. And that’s just off the top of my head. Oh, and the Cheeseman.
Will you ask about one of his many minions creative collaborators? The secret source of his awesome? The backstory of the Cheeseman?
So, intrepid Shadowlocked readers…dazzle and amaze Joss with your wit, your insight, your non-sequiturs!
To get your brainpans started…um, frying up ideas, here’s the official synopsis:
Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favourites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.
Produced by Whedon and directed by Goddard from a script by both, the film stars Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford. Lionsgate presents a Mutant Enemy production.
The Cabin in the Woods is released on Friday 13 April in the UK, and on 27 April in the US.

We all know there'll be a Doctor Horrible follow-up, so how about a song tease, even if it's just the title? And what, if any, other genres of music are going to be involved (seeing as the last had a few mish-mashes)?
and work on the new buffy movie
Bet you would do a fabulous job making your own version of Superman, Dr Who.or similar.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
My question is do you have any advice for future directors? thanks Liam Quane
2. Being a bit of an anglophile, what (if you do have the time that is) have you been enjoying of recent from the warm bosom of British TV & film output?
I am a young filmmaker who wishes to be in the filmmakers buisness some day, what did you have to do to get where you are today?
Thanks,
