Why not gather the family for some zombie-butchering fun?...

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City multiplayer

It would seem - at the moment - that Resident Evil is the gift that just keeps on giving. Well, as giving as a third-person, zombie killing release can be...but let's not be pedantic. Due for release on the 20th March, 2012, Raccoon City already looks set to restore the franchise back to its golden days. The graphics are crisp; the gameplay seems neat and, above all, it looks like incredibly good fun. Don't believe us? Well why not check out their recently released, 'Triple Impact Trailer' below:

But wait, there's more! In their latest press release, Capcom have revealed all on Operation Raccoon City's multiplayer options - and boy, is there some juicy content. In the latest reveal, Capcom explained how players will be able to experience intense, four vs four online team battles, playing as either a member of the Umbrella Security Service (USS) or US Spec Ops.

Like 'Beast' mode in Gears of War 3, players can - if they choose - take on the role of the bad guys with USS members Vector, Beltway, Lupo, Four-Eyes, Spectre or Bertha. Alternatively, play as the good guys and experience the horrors of Raccoon City as Tweed, Dee-ay, Harley, Willow, Shona or Party Girl, members of the US Spec Ops that were revealed earlier in the above trailer.

According to Capcom, RE: ORC will "break the conventions of traditional third person shooters by allowing players to not only compete against their team’s opposing squad, but tackle a third, unpredictable force as zombies and B.O.W.s add to the mix" Put simply, it's a Mexican stand-off of good, evil and down right zombie.

As ever, Team Deathmatch will be making an appearance, but the addition of triple threat chaos (their words, not mine) means that gamers will never quite know what's behind them. A nice little addition and one that's sure to stop the campers amongst you.

Rounding off the modes are Biohazard - which requires gamers to return samples of the G-virus safely back to their base; the now obligatory Survivor's mode (think Nazi Zombies or Modern Warfare 3's survival mode; and the previously announced Heroes Mode, which allows fans to play as one of their favorite Resident Evil characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, Hunk and Jill Valentine.

Anyhow, Capcom have condensed all this wonderful information into a digestible two minute trailer, which can be viewed below:

The King of zombie infestations is back, and it's looking gorier than ever!
