You didn't think we meant the other kind of selling out, did you?
Spoilers Follow - but not too many or too major ...
You can totally believe the hype on this one: as if Batman fever hadn't been flagged to combustion point by the flat-out awesomeness of October's Batman: Arkham Asylum - tickets for the midnight IMAX screening of The Dark Knight Rises have sold out in all major markets. And in the January issue of Entertainment Weekly, both Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan talk about the upcoming film, revealing more than just an in-depth look at the new Batsuit.
As we all know, the third and final Nolan-Bale installment of the Batman series will give us baddies in the form of Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and Bane (Tom Hardy). It will also, apparently, feature a return to Wayne Manor and the Batcave, as it's set eight years after the events in the second film, The Dark Knight. Nolan also revealed that plot points will center on the fall out from the decision that Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon made at the end of the second film - to cover up Harvey Dent's descent into madness and crime as Two-Face.
After the resounding success of The Dark Knight, which grossed over half a billion dollars and earned Heath Ledger a posthumous Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker, it must be Bale admitted in his interview, "I can tell you the truth because I’m done with it: I felt immense pressure. And I think it’s a good pressure, because you owe it to the films — and the people’s expectations — to make great work.”
