5 YouTube experiences to brighten your week #18
| LISTS - OTHER LISTS |
YouTube has a Christmas feel this week...

It’s nearly Christmas and, believe it or not, I haven’t even got my tree yet! Probably because I’ve been far too busy searching for some funny or festive clips for you all.
There are quite a few clips I couldn’t fit into the top five this week, so I’ll give them a cheeky mention in this introductory bit.
It wasn’t hard to find the Star Wars Holiday Special on YouTube, it has to be the worst Christmas special of all time – but, as we all know, that also makes it the best.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sing-along from the mid-90’s also stands out. This clip - featuring a group of mischievous carol singers - grappled with my heart for the number one spot; it’s funny and heart-warming and even gets the policemen smiling!
But here’s my top five:
5. I won’t spoil the surprise on this one
This clip is only seven seconds long, so I’m putting it on first because, although it’s hilarious, I think we can build momentum by following it with clips of longer duration. Clever eh?
4. Concrete Buffer Gone Wild
They say the most important part of a video is its audio. Although the scenes captured in this clip are mystifying and hilarious, it’s the commentary provided by the camera man and his friends that makes this clip priceless.
At least 16 builders try to tame a spinning ‘concrete buffer’ with water, a big stick, a piece of tarpaulin and, after that all failed, they simply tried to catch it.
It’s like something out of a nature documentary, it's bizarre, unique and brilliantly funny. Enjoy!
3. Ice Hockey in the Yukon
First of all: I’m not an Ice Hockey fan, so you don’t have to be to enjoy this.
Secondly: I demand that you watch this in high definition.
Thirdly, this clip is absolutely beautiful: the sunlight, scenery and sound of the blades coasting over the ice are simply spine-tingling. Before I die I have to at least visit this place, you should make it your ambition too after witnessing this.
2. Waterman!
If you can make a career out of projectile vomiting, I take my hat off to you. Mr Waterman Dickenson has certainly done that, and by entering Germany’s version of Britain’s Got Talent, he has made an international name for himself.
I can’t tell you whether he progressed to the next round, that’s not important. What is important is that you watch this clip, it will blow your mind.
1. It's Christmas!
Here’s a little something to get you in the Christmas spirit, although I reckon you’re already feeling pretty festive.
This clip of snowmen getting into all kinds of hilarious scrapes pays homage to Calvin and Hobbes, the iconic comic cartoon from the 80’s and 90’s – so it’s bound to get you giggling.
I wish you all a merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year!
