5 YouTube videos to brighten your week...

Welcome to ‘Five YouTube Experiences to Brighten Your Week’, where I attempt to introduce you to some (hopefully) unknown but hilarious YouTube videos.

If you haven’t read any of the previous editions don’t worry, there are links at the bottom of the page. And in case you were wondering, there aren’t any running jokes or continual references to past editions, just hilarious or informative videos accompanied by a little blurb to entice you to click play.

Here are the five fabulous clips!

5. Warriors of Goja

This has to be the most insane clip I’ve ever included in this feature.

We are presented with a Britain’s Got Talent style TV show, only set in India, with the contestants being a group of men. Now, I didn’t know what to expect at this point, as they started quite harmlessly by smashing light bulbs on their chest… but then I noticed one of the men was chewing, that’s right chewing, a light bulb.

From there they ratchet up the danger to ridiculous levels which will either make you wince or split your sides laughing.

4. Epic Door To Door Salesman

If only there were door-to-door salesmen like this fellow in my town. I’d buy his products just to thank him for being so funny. But that would be patronising, no?

Kenny Brooks is the name of our salesman who, after learning that Jaimie Foxx was a door-to-door salesman for two years simply to improve his communication skills, followed his lead.

What we have here is a stand-up routine mixed into a salesman’s pitch, and it’s funny, very funny.

3. The Rubberbandits – Black Man

The Rubberbandits are a comedy hip-hop twosome from Ireland, and this is their latest song. It will make you laugh, I promise!

I first heard them when they brought out the song ‘I Wanna Fight Your Father’ earlier this year. Their songs are an excellent, eclectic mix of catchy hooks and hilarious lyrics. I seriously hope they get the international recognition and success they deserve.

2. Captain Planet [Warning: Swear Words] have produced a vast amount of original and hilarious content, but this has to be one of my favourites.

Don Cheadle – you might remember him from such serious, acclaimed films as Crash and Hotel Rwanda – stars in this skit about the green superhero Captain Planet. It's reminiscent of Power Rangers and certainly intends to mock it to high heaven.

But is Captain Planet all he is cracked up to be? And can he be trusted? There is only one way to find out…click play.

1. Recording The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Orchestra CD

Now I bet you are a Zelda fan, they aren’t that rare. I’m a Zelda fan, most of my friends are, and even those that don’t play the game recognise its legendary status.

This five minute clip shows the orchestra playing the main Zelda theme. I apologise if you aren’t a Zelda fan, but I couldn’t resist sharing this musical masterpiece with you. The musical talent on show here is mind-blowing; it will send shivers down your spine!
