5 reasons why YouTube is essential to your weekend...

Editors note - apologies for the delay, but you looking folks get two editions this weekend!
Has it been two weeks already? But its gone so fast, and so much has happened since last we met – unfortunately most of it sad.
Yet that’s why this feature exists, to make you smile, laugh and forget the woes of the world. Here, assembled for your viewing pleasure are fine examples of satirical humour, face-plants, horrendous football skills, voice manipulation and the charm of Disney...
5. The Hamster Wheel: Lord Monckton
The Hamster Wheel is a hilarious spin-off show from the folks of the sublime Australian TV series The Chaser's War on Everything. If you like this, then please check out their previous work.
Lord Monckton, a real figure in British politics, is set up to be another of Sacha Baron Cohen’s characters in this satirical clip. A series of comedians, alongside clips of Lord Monckton’s absurdness, speak of the completeness of this latest Cohen character and compare Monckton to creations such as Ali G, Borat and Bruno.
It is superb.
4. Unique Led Zeppelin cover
I’m sure everyone has seen the Police Academy films. Furthermore, I’m sure all of you enjoyed the multifarious voices of Michael Winslow in the films.
Well here he is performing a cover of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love. There isn’t much I can say to sell this, as I’m sure you’ve already stopped reading and clicked play.
3. Montage of Epic Face-plants
The creators of Team America knew what they were doing when they sang “we’re gonna need a montage”. And I mirror their sentiments, it’s about time this list had a montage, a funny one.
Granted, this clip isn’t the newest but it is funny. Furthermore, it succeeds where so many others fail – it doesn’t have an incessant and banal soundtrack; leaving you to enjoy every crack, scream and crunch.
2. Heskey - The Powerhouse
This parody of the Adidas Steven Gerrard advert, replaces the imperious Scouser with Emile Heskey, a figure of much greater derision in the football world.
This video, made on FIFA12, showcases (perhaps unfairly) Heskey’s now synonymous stumbles, misses and general lack of elegance. If you know anything about Heskey you will be in fits of laughter, if not, I hope you appreciate it nonetheless.
1. Statler and Waldorf V Milton Berle
This clip, whilst made for children, can make everyone laugh. I dare you not to laugh. Did I win?
This is a perfect example of the all encompassing brilliance of Disney, and proves that to be funny, you don’t have to swear or be vulgar – not that I have anything against Louis C.K. et al.
This clip brings me back to my youth; it's innocent humour that will leave you in fits of giggles. Enjoy!
