Meet Mass Effect 3's new character, James Vega
| NEWS - VIDEOGAME NEWS |
It's Vega, baby!...

For those of you who fall into the 'regular reader' bracket here at Shadowlocked, you will understand our affection towards Mass Effect. In terms of content, our very own Chris Morgan has always been a forerunner in Mass Effect academia - the guy is like an encyclopaedia of BioWare knowledge - and we, the accompanying few, have merely sort to add to Chris' otherwise impeachable understanding of the popular franchise.
From its very birth, Chris has spent time analysing and suggesting possible quandaries for the eagerly anticipated Mass Effect 3, whilst also toying with the idea of a movie adaptation; even including a number of possible casting suggestions.
So, while I cannot hope to produce an article of such depth on a topic that I know so little about, I can, however, keep you all updated with news and/or releases concerning Mass Effect 3's impending release; and so we get to the heart of this news piece.
To celebrate reaching 10,000 followers on Twitter, Mass Effect 3's executive producer Casey Hudson has released this fresh image of new boy on the Normandy, James Vega:

Initially unveiled in the May 2011 version of Game Informer, Vega is a human Systems Alliance soldier, and has apparently been designed to ease new gamers into the franchise. Through him, users will experience the perspective of a new soldier aboard the Normandy; one who, while unquestionably capable, is still unfamiliar with the current state of intergalactic politics. BioWare hope that the inclusion of such characters will help extend the Mass Effect series beyond its pre-existing boundaries; welcoming gamers who, to date, have little experience with Commander Shepard and his diverse range of soldiers.

On the subject, this guy is the son of one of the characters from the ME spin-off novels. Something tells me that established fans aren't going to take too well to this muscled pretty boy, though. He even looks like a bit of a blank cavas, lacking personality. I hope BioWare prove me wrong.
