PlayStation Store finally back online in Japan

Our Japanese brothers are now back in the mix...

It's funny really. Sony Corporation - and all of its subdivisions - were developed, or continue to be developed, in Japan, and yet it is the Japanese that have found themselves last on the waiting list of PS3 owners waiting to get back online.
Yes, while the rest of PS3 owners in Europe, America - hell, anywhere that isn't Japan - have been enjoying the freebies Sony are now littering upon them, the Japanese have had to wait close to a month before they could join their global brethren. But is this their own fault? Could this be a result of such brand loyalty? Maybe (and bear with me on this) Sony saw Japan as an unwavering stronghold - one that continues to show undeniable support throughout this hacking debacle - and as such concentrated on markets that they felt were more likely to turn their backs, aka Europe and America. For further support, one needs only to look at Microsoft's dubious success in Japan in recent years.
Without doubt, these last few months have been a testing time for the Japanese giant, but it's good to see the company making significant steps towards regaining consumer trust. The free download initiative - which has been extended by a day, just in case you missed it - is a remarkable attempt by the consumer giants to regain the trust that was inevitably lost as a result of the hacking fiasco, and Sony has shown that they do indeed care about us, the common consumer. Furthermore, with the dust now settled, one must not forget the good that has come from this; Sony - and all other major companies - have been made aware of the continual threat posed by such hackers and online thieves, and as such must continue to improve the security surrounding their users' most privy and confidential details.
So, 'okaerinasai' - I hope I got that right - Japan, I look forward to seeing you online soon. Oh, and one more thing - be nice to Microsoft...they're really trying...
