Disney Pixar's Brave trailer hits the web

Disney show no fear with their latest trailer...

After the surprising box-office success of Cars 2 last weekend, Disney Pixar must be feeling pretty good about themselves. While the reviews have been mixed - as called by Shadowlocked's US Editor Gabriel Ruzin - the film's gross to date has been impressive; but then again, its competition is certainly weaker than in previous weeks. Nevertheless, the fact that Cars 2 made more than twice the gross of Bad Teacher - the latest release from Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake - will be pleasing to all concerned, and will hopefully help the franchise move away from its 'the runt of the Pixar litter' tag-line.
So, obviously on a high from these results, Pixar have today released their first teaser trailer for upcoming release Brave - and boy, does it look good. The animation looks totally unblemished; perfect to the eye and yet another reason why we love their work. The film - which, for a brief period, was entitled The Bear and the Bow - is set for a June 2012 release date (at present), and stars Julie Walters, Billy Connolly and The Late Late show's Craig Ferguson, to name but a few.
Anyhow, see what you think:
While little is known about Brave, I think the concept seems totally original for Pixar - which is impressive considering their vast repertoire to date. Without giving too much away, Pixar have once again grasped our full attention, combining obvious Scottish overtones with the modern twist that we have grown to love. Furthermore, the film's foundations seem to be set firmly in Scottish mythology, so it will be interesting to see how Pixar approaches such a proud subject matter. Either way, I'm excited. Then again, Pixar could animate a bowel movement and I'd probably pay to see it...
