Bradley Cooper may be the devil!

NEWS - MOVIE NEWS

And he may get to play him on the big screen as well!

OK, Bradley Cooper isn't actually the Devil. He's just impossibly handsome and charming; (although his recent movie success brings to mind a certain crossroads, and a deal ....?) Anyway, there is a film version of Paradise Lost in development and, while he hasn't been offered the part, Bradley Cooper is in talks to star as Lucifer.

The development company attached to the project, Legendary Pictures, is the company that produced Cooper's breakout film, The Hangover, as well as all three Christopher Nolan Batman movies. Paradise Lost is reported to be an action-heavy interpretation of Milton's epic poem; directed by Alex Proyas (Dark City, The Crow) and written by Lawrence Kasdan (Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark) and Stuart Hazeldine (Exam). The story will concentrate on Lucifer's rebellion and fall, and his role in Adam and Eve's expulsion from Eden. Cooper wouldn't be the strangest choice to play the Devil on the big screen, though - anyone recall the remake of Bedazzled starring Liz Hurley?

Cooper hasn't been offered the role yet, but is reportedly in serious talks and is very interested in the part. He has, however, been offered a part in The Place Beyond the Pines, due out in 2013. The Place Beyond the Pines tells the story of a young man who begins robbing banks to support his baby; that role has been offered to Ryan Gosling, who worked with director Derek Cianfrance on last year's highly regarded Blue Valentine. Cianfrance is the power behind The Pines, and the role of the police officer on Gosling's trail has been offered to Cooper, according to Variety.
