Metalocalypse Season 3 Competition
|OFFWORLD - COMPETITIONS|
What's better than watching a rock apocalypse? How about watching it for free?
Back in 2003, as a result of a series of unfortunate events - as Lemony Snicket would say - I found myself with a week off school and very little to do. However, thanks to a little known American animated sitcom - aka Family Guy - I soon found an outlet for my time and my love of animated comedies was born. As the years progressed, so did my collection - Futurama, American Dad, South Park; all soon had consumed a large portion of both my time and my life.
However, as the years went by, the standards began to fall. The first victim was Futurama, stumbling through its third season before finally coming to rest after its fourth (or so it seemed). Soon after was South Park, a series that, as much as it tried to distance itself, caught "Simpson's syndrome" - a crippling disease that results in one funny episode for every three to four produced. Since then, a number of entertaining animated shows have gone the same way, yet some have clinged to their previous success like a bereaved widow, struggling to let go of past memories. By far the worst culprit, however, was Family Guy - but this is an article for another time.
Anyhow, by 2007 I found myself with an emptiness that I had not felt since just before discovering Family Guy back in 2003. Times were bad and the darkness looked set to consume my life. However, salvation soon came from the unlikeliest of sources, Turner Entertainment's Adult Swim. While its content was dark, its freshness was enlightening; the glowing beacon of originality in a sea of stale and unoriginal content, with the likes of Robot Chicken, Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law and Aqua Teen Hunger Force all proving this point.
So, with this in mind, is it not time that you too joined the Adult Swim revolution? Well, because we love you so much, we have decided to make this easier for you. To celebrate the release of the third season of Metalocalypse - another of Adult Swim's fine diverse comedies - we have teamed up with Revolver Entertainment to offer you the opportunity to win one of three box-sets we have to give away. To be in with a chance of winning, simply email us your answer - along with your contact details - to this simple question:
What is the fictional name of the band's manager and lawyer? (Answer can be found in our season two review)
All entries must be received by the 21th March and winners will then be contacted and asked to supply a posting address.
