Director chosen for Fantastic Voyage remake
| NEWS - MOVIE NEWS |
James Cameron is involved, and it's in 3D? Say it isn't so...

About a year ago, SyFy announced that the script for James Cameron's remake of Fantastic Voyage was complete, and speculation on who would be chosen as director began. Cameron will reportedly be attached to the project as producer, rather than director, although the film will obviously be filmed and shown in fabulous 3D. Can this gimmick go away already? If someone is genuinely enjoying higher ticket prices, piercing headaches, and obvious plot adjustments to better show off the 3D device, please, speak now. (Agree to disagree - News Ed (Calvin Peat).)
More to the point, for the last year, different directors have been favored as the frontrunner for the remake: Paul Greengrass (Green Zone) and Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) among others. Today, Deadline announced that the decision has been made, and that Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Real Steel) is the chosen one. Casting decisions have yet to be made.
