Will new Superman flick feature Ursa?

If Ursa is cast now, could Zod be far behind...?

The Latino Review stated today that three actresses are auditioning for a role in Zack Snyder's Superman, playing an 'undisclosed' character. The chosen three are Diane Kruger, the German-born actress best-known for her role in Inglorious Basterds; and British actresses Alice Eve (She's Out of My League) and Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day, Pride and Prejudice).
As none of these names have been bandied about as contenders for the role of Lois Lane, fans have been casting (pun definitely intended) about for other prime female characters in the Superman Universe who could be played by one of the three above. The Latino Review article speculates (on the basis of an unnamed but reliable source) that they will be trying out for the role of Ursa.
Ursa, if you recall, was one of the Kryptonian baddies from Superman II, who went up against Christopher Reeve's Supes alongside Non and General Zod. While Zack Snyder stated back in October 2010 that Zod's presence in the film was "just a rumor", that doesn't mean that a) things haven't changed or b) that rumor wasn't accurate. Sometimes rumors are true! In this case, let's hope so. Although representing General Zod as well as Terence Stamp did in Superman II will be a feat, it would be great to see Superman going up against someone other than just Lex Luthor again, for a change.
