R.I.P.D. comic book movie gets Galifianakis

The sexiest man alive may join Ryan Reynolds in the film...
Yeah, that's right, I said it. Zach Galifianakis, the best thing in The Hangover, TV's Bored to Death, and stand-up comedy in general, could possibly be the sexiest thing in the R.I.P.D. film, People Magazine notwithstanding. Zach is being considered for a part in the film adaptation of the comic R.I.P.D. R.I.P.D. stands for Rest In Peace Department and is the police department for the undead; Ryan Reynolds has long been in line to play the lead, Nick Cruz. Today the LA Times reported that Zach G. is in talks to play the co-lead (not the sidekick, never the sidekick).
The film adaptation is being written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, who previously teamed up to write Clash of the Titans and Aeon Flux. It will be directed by Robert Schwentke of Red and is due for release in 2012. If their weapons are powered by understated sarcasm, evildoers beware!
