Pet Sematary remake - all King, all the time
| NEWS - MOVIE NEWS |
If you can't hail The King, stay home from the movies for a couple of years...

Hot on the heels of the news that 'The Stand' will be adapted for the big screen comes the news that Paramount will remake the 1989 film version of Pet Sematary. (Cue revival/zombie puns!) Pet Sematary, for the three of you who don't know, features a Native American burial ground which brings forth the zombie version of anyone or thing buried there; and the grief-stricken (and some might say terminally stupid) man who just keeps burying stuff there.
Paramount has reportedly requested a script treatment from Matthew Greenberg, who wrote 1408, another King adaptation. The LA Times also reports that they are seeking a "high-level director" for the project, although Paramount declined to comment.
Between Ron Howard's Dark Tower adaptation, which is set to encompass three feature films and a small-screen miniseries between films; the film version of 'The Stand', and a reboot of the uber-creepy TV miniseries It in the works - if you don't like Stephen King, you may want to renew your Netflix subscription!
