Dude, a Lebowski sequel may be in the works
| NEWS - MOVIE NEWS |
Another adventure with The Dude and Walter? Far out, man...

In my zeal to write about anything associated with one of the greatest cult classics of the 1990s, The Big Lebowski, allow me to report a recent bombshell that Tara Reid dropped during an interview with Hollywood.tv, passed along by CNN's MarqueeBlog. When asked what projects the actress had on her upcoming schedule, Reid's litany of approaching films included...The Big Lebowski 2???
When pressed as to any possible details, Reid demurred, but did mention that "the whole cast should be coming back for that". As exciting as this may be for Dudeists such as myself, this isn't the first time that murmurings of a possible sequel have originated from cast and crew. Back in 2008, John Turturro was quoted by Digital Spy as saying that Joel & Ethan Coen, directors of The Big Lebowski, were seriously mulling a sequel that would focus on Turturro's character of Jesus Quintana. Since that comment, though, no other details regarding a Jesus-centric installment have been forthcoming.
The Dude himself, Jeff Bridges, who currently stars in the latest Coen Brothers film True Grit, professed to know nothing about any plans for revisiting his legendary character earlier this summer, but said that it would be "a wonderful surprise". That would make two of us.
