Sacha Baron Cohen to portray Saddam Hussein
| NEWS - MOVIE NEWS |
Of course, they are practically twins...

Sacha Baron Cohen, the comedy genius behind Da Ali G Show, Borat, and Bruno (and doubtlessly the best part of Sweeney Todd) is set to portray Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in The Dictator. The film, which is said to be based on a book called 'Zabibah and the King', is scheduled for release in May 2012.
Now, if Wikipedia is to be believed, and in this case I really hope that it is, 'Zabibah and the King' is a romance novel / political allegory published anonymously in Iraq that was supposedly written by Saddam Hussein himself. The story takes place in 7th century Tikrit and is the story of the king (Hussein) who loves Zabibah (the Iraqui people); but Zabibah's cruel husband (the United States) rapes her (invades Iraq at the end of the Gulf War). No word on whether SBC will play Hussein as the author of the book, or Hussein as the idealized, allegorical king in the story of 'Zabibah and the King'.
