Stan Lee Honored with Star
| NEWS - MOVIE NEWS |
Finally, a Hollywood star you'd actually want to see...

Stan Lee was honored today with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, 'cementing' his position as a Hollywood icon (pun totally and shamefully intended). While Lee has long been recognized as a pop-culture icon for his comic book creations which have become a part of the cultural framework, not to mention some of the highest-grossing films in recent memory (and one possibly cursed Broadway play).
Todd MacFarlane, a fellow Marvel Comics superstar, called Stan "the American dream" - does that make MacFarlane the Canadian dream? - and Gail Champion, COO of Pow! Entertainment, appropriately named him "the father of the superhero". In reference to January 4th being named Stan Lee day in Hollywood, he joked, "Some Stan Lee day! The schools are still open, they are still delivering mail." And just when you thought you couldn't love him more, Stan Lee concluded his speech by proclaiming, "Excelsior!" Indeed!
