Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom reprise roles for The Hobbit

If you're thinking, 'wait, they weren't in The Hobbit', you're not wrong...
A new Middle Earth rumor is floating around today - according to Deadline, Orlando Bloom may be the next elf to reprise his role in The Hobbit. Cate Blanchett confirmed earlier this week that she would come back as Galadriel, the elf queen. Orlando Bloom actually stated his interest in returning as Legolas as early as January of 2010, in this interview with MTV.
While many fans of the movies are pleased with the news about Cate, and the possibility of Bloom's return, die-hard fans of the books may be confused, as neither character actually appeared in The Hobbit. However, considering the long elvish life span, and the timing of the Hobbit prequel, the characters can be incorporated into the story without breaking down the Middle Earth universe.
If only Liv Tyler would come back as well, they could have a most-pretty-elf trifecta.
