Matrix creators to tackle Robin Hood tale

Wachowskis' vision said to be a 'modern urban take' on the popular myth...

From the pages of Heat Vision comes news that Lana (formerly Larry) and Andy Wachowski have announced their plans to pursue an adaptation of Robin Hood. Rumour has it that the Wachowskis have already written a first draft of the script and are slated to direct.
Hot on the heels of Ridley Scott's semi-successful journey to Sherwood Forest just months ago, the project has nevertheless been given a perfunctory green light by Warner Brothers. The studio has hosted every Wachowski film for over a decade, ever since their hugely successful and groundbreaking Matrix franchise. Lana and Andy have recently been working on Iraq War drama CN-9, but the film has been slow to attract financing. CN-9's delay may soon lead to the Wachowskis' Robin Hood effort, tentatively titled Hood, jumping to the top of their schedules.
Far from the classic green garb, bow and arrow, and wooded climes, this most recent variation will apparently be an urban and contemporary tale. The project is still in its extremely early stages, but sources say that Will Smith has already been approached to star.
