Is that all you get for $100 million these days?

Super Mario Brothers, Mortal Kombat, Max Payne: it’s safe to say that we have had to put up with some crap over the years. Since Super Mario Bros. started the videogame-to-movie tradition in 1993, fans have been tormented by some of the worst productions of all time, many of which have been directed by Uwe Boll and financed by an unfortunate German tax law which meant that his films could be written off as a 100% tax deduction.

However, following an offbeat comment by a senior Bungie worker back in 2005 who stated that “Halo could quite possibly make the transition to Hollywood”, gamers worldwide began to regain some credibility, assuring people that this would change everyone’s perspectives on videogame movies. Conversely, after five years of waiting and a number of different problems, many had given up hope of ever seeing a film adaptation of the series, instead turning their attention to the much rumoured Gears of War and Uncharted movie adaptations.

Fortunately, we here at Shadowlocked have refused to believe that Halo was dead in the water, and continued our search, hoping to discover more evidence or a glimpse of hope that there may just be life in the production and, after much time, we found it.

Ok, so it’s not an official trailer or anything like that but it does show one important aspect above all, an aspect that ultimately ensures that, at some stage, there will be a Halo movie production - the dedication and following behind Halo.

So, why not take a break, sit back and enjoy this fan-based offering as it was meant to be enjoyed, as a bit of light-hearted banter; either way, it’s not like Hollywood has made anything better.
