Dexter renewed for season six

Miami's favorite serial killer returns to kill again ...
Hooray for Showtime! Dexter, the weirdly addictive horror/drama, has just been renewed for a sixth season. After the series-changing mindf*** finale last season, there was a reported 32% drop in viewership for the season five pilot; however, by the third episode the ratings were back up. It didn't hurt that Julia Stiles joined the cast this season as well, bringing much-needed new blood (hee!) to the series.
While Showtime has only renewed Dexter for a single season, it is not being considered the final season. Apparently several contracts for key characters need to be renewed between season six and seven. No word yet on whether Julia Stiles' is one of those key contracts!
