Psych actor lands White House role in mutant superhero prequel...
Whilst promoting his 'American criminal comedy-drama mystery television series' Psych, actor Ray Wise has revealed that he is a late addition to the shooting of Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class, which is already several months into production.
Wise said: "I'm playing the Secretary of State of the United States. I'll be going over there in the next couple of weeks." Asked if he is likely to be involved in any major VFX-spectacle scenes, Wise told IGN "Well, I think I touch on them, yeah, a bit."
Besides his cult work as another of the character casualties in Robocop (1987), 24, Reaper, a guest role on Dollhouse and his current work on Psych, Wise is perhaps still best known for his work two decades back on David Lynch's ground-breaking and surreal TV show Twin Peaks, where he played Leland Palmer, the creepy father of the murdered 'Laura' around whose mysterious demise the show revolved.
Of the production of First Class, Wise commented "I love Matthew [Vaughn]. And Bryan Singer's producing it...a great cast – James McAvoy, January Jones, Oliver Platt..."
