Spider-Man musical preview full of bugs

NEWS - OFFWORLD

Did anyone think this would end well?

His spider-sense should have warned him...

The Spider-Man musical opened in previews last night, and audiences were even more disappointed than expected! The show was reportedly plagued by technical problems, including two characters (one of them Spidey himself!) left hanging over the audience for several minutes due to wire malfunctions. The villainess Arachnae was hanging for well over five minutes while the crew attempted to fix the problem; Spidey's malfunction was corrected more quickly, in less than one minute, but was made more embarrassing by the fact that stage hands were on stage, grabbing at his feet, trying to get him down. Set pieces (and in some cases, actors) were missing, and stage wires reportedly fell on the audience at one point.

Most distressing for the musical's future are the varied descriptions of the story (too vague and / or complicated) and the music (lackluster, boring).  Technical problems can hopefully be corrected before the show's actual premiere on January 11; story and music problems are another thing altogether.

$60 million plus well spent!
