Crysis lovers lament the Asian firewall for Warface

Hey, if you already smoke Marlboro or drink Coke, go and play some other game...

Following the releases of Far Cry in 2004 and Crysis in 2007, Crytek established itself a position of much reverence within the First Person Shooter (FPS) genre, one that has not been called into question ever since. However, apart from an add-on here and an expansion pack there, the company has been quite subdued of late, promising much but delivering very little.
Known for their enthralling singleplayer campaigns, the wait for new material has been almost too much for some people, with reports of gamers being found alone, cradling a well worn copy of Crysis to their chest, becoming all too common.
Unfortunately, while I bring you news of life from within Crytek, it comes attached to a rather large and uninspiring silver cloud and is sure to further test people’s patience.
In a press release that hit the Internet today, Crytek’s Korean studio has proudly announced the release of the company’s first ever entirely online shooter, Warface.
Described as a "near future" shooter for the PC that lets players either take each other on in online combat or in more "dramatic, multiplayer co-op missions”, Warface will run on the increasingly common free-to-play model of gaming, with the company cashing in on real life sales of game material such as additional weapons and upgrades.
Now, what of this large and uninspiring silver cloud that I mentioned? Well, according to this latest release, the game has been pencilled as an Asian-only release, meaning that we European and American gamers may never get to experience Warface.
Still, with the release of Crysis 2, a game that its creators are penning as “one that intends to set the graphical benchmark”, penned for next year and this mouth-watering trailer for Codename Kingdoms tantalising our gaming taste buds, I think we can forgive Crytek just this once.
