Bikey, chesty new Captain America pics

NEWS - MOVIE NEWS

Steve Rogers could be coming chest in time to cheer up the superhero movie world a bit...

Bike action in Captain America (2011)

There's something for most everyone in the new pics Marvel have released for Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). There's certainly something for the ladies (mostly, I guess) in the first pic shown below. I nominate Chris Evans to play Khan in Star Trek 2 on the strength of those pecs.

Joe Johnston, the VFX marvel who moved away from just doing the movie magic with outings such as Jumanji and Jurassic Park III, as well as the (presumably) similarly old-fashioned superhero adventure The Rocketeer, is directing the film, which is penned by Joss Whedon, David Self, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film also features Hayley Atwell as Cap's love interest Peggy Carter and Hugo Weaving  as Cap's nemesis The Red Skull (both featured below).

First Avenger finds sickly sap Steve Rogers (Evans) turned into a super-soldier by a secret military program at the height of WWII.

It will be very interesting to see how such a patriotic and (one would presume) non-dark hero is treated, both by the writers and filmmakers...but most importantly by the US audiences who seem to have been too depressed for a decade to buy any superhero that isn't a borderline psycho. I'm guessing the producers of the next Superman movie may have their eye on Captain America, to see if the tide is turning at last. Who knows, by the time Dark Knight Rises comes along, we might all be telling Batman to cheer up...
