Alien prequel details revealed - 'Forced gay sex'?

NEWS - MOVIE NEWS

This may be the weirdest s*** anyone ever asked $250m to make...

The Space Jockey in 'Alien' (1979)

THERE MAY BE SPOILERS HERE. BUT IF THEY MAKE THIS SCRIPT, I'LL DANCE NAKED IN THE LOUVRE.

Although Twentieth Century Fox have asked news-breaking site What's Playing to remove the story details of the latest version of the Alien prequel script that they got a look at, one or two cats are out of the locker-room cupboard and may not avoid the net.

What we already knew is mentioned again: that the space-jockey race featured in the 1979 film only as a giant ossified corpse attached to some kind of phallic telescope, will feature heavily in the prequel. In fact, against all apparent likeliness, the prequel is set to be largely about these gargantuan beasts. If this is the case, it's no wonder Ridley Scott was asking for $250m to make the film.

The scope of the script is said to veer between psychological drama and romance, and the phrase 'brokeback alien' has been bandied about, along with rumours of forced gay sex.

The space jockeys in this version of the prequel are known as 'growers', a benevolent terraforming species, two representatives of which use some form of mind control in order to...well, make two human farmers 'procreate' with each other. However the experiment fails since both farmers are male.

There's mention of a human and largely lesbian crew who are hard-boiled, including an African-American named 'Oliver' (for whom specious rumours abound that Zoe Saldana would be a good fit). Another female character is called 'Trucks' (they're not being subtle with the culture of this crew, are they?), apparently the role with which Gemma Arterton was recently associated.

A xenomorphThe xenomorphs so familiar to us from the franchise are apparently an unexpected and undesirable by-product of the Growers' terraforming experiments, and one would guess maybe some kind of highly mutated insect...

All this is the weirdest stuff Ridley Scott has even thought of trying since he tried to get Paul Atreides and his mum to have an incestuous affair in his pre-Lynch take on Dune in the early 1980s.

An insider who read an earlier script expressed a very low opinion of it to me, and I'm not sure if it's this one that the person was talking about, or if this is the glorious rework that followed it.

Lesbian sex is great. Gay male sex isn't. These movies are for people's entertainment not government policy.
