It’s hard to imagine life as a cowboy. However, if we take Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption as the basic grounds of a cowboy’s lifestyle, it certainly was animated. RDR’s lead, and John Marston has to deal with it all. As a result of his wife and son being taken hostage, he agrees to become a bounty hunter for the government and must face the consequences of his actions. During this time, Marston is confronted with a number of issues, including violence, theft, debauchery... and zombies?

Yes, you heard me... zombies.

Ever keen to keep their critically acclaimed creation fresh and exciting, Rockstar have today announced their latest expansion pack, due for release 26th of October. The pack, appropriately named “Undead Nightmare”, will see Mr. Marston battling the living dead as only he can. Whether you decide to burn them, bait them or send them to the afterlife with Holy Water, you can be sure that this expansion pack will make full use of the advanced and superior gameplay features that have made RDR one of the top rated games on metacritic.com.

While you could argue that the undead genre has become somewhat overused to date, with the likes of Call of Duty and Stubbs the Zombie Rebel Without a Pulse both reviving the field to maximise profits, I think “Undead Nightmare” will be an experience like no other, fully utilising the control system and gameplay of RDR whilst building on its already distinguished reputation.
