Behind the scenes at a games trailer with a difference...

Halo Reach

With sales peaking 3 million units since its release, it would be fair to say that the latest release of Bungie’s cash-cow Halo has lived up to the success of its predecessors. However, what was most intriguing in the run up to its release, Halo: Reach, was the advertising campaign that flooded our television screens for well over a month.

Making 'Halo' trailerUnlike the vast majority of game advertisements which seem to favour displaying a trailer that we are told in small print is not actual gameplay footage, Bungie entered unfamiliar territory to create a truly amazing 30 seconds. In it, we are treated to Bungie’s vision, a creation of what the featured gameplay may look like in real life.

Yet, if you were impressed by the advert, the “making of” video which has just been released will blow you away.

Sit back, have a watch and be prepared to be mesmerised by the depth and detail that went into creating the 30 second trailer:
