Jamie Bell strongly rumoured to be new Spider-Man

Sony seem to have been impressed with the young British actor's work on Tintin...

Bleeding Cool are pretty damn sure, based on a sequence of reports in the last day, that Sony have settled on British actor Jamie Bell for the continuing or re-booted Spider-Man franchise.
Bell came to prominence very young as the child star of Billy Elliot (2000), and snagged the role of Tintin in Spielberg and Jackson's forthcoming comic > movie franchise.
I really hope this is true, as Bell has become a stronger and better actor with every film he's made. He was pretty much the only redeeming feature in 2008's sci-fi non-blockbuster Jumper, for instance. He's a chameleon with accents, naturally physical in his performances, has a range as wide as the Himalayas, and would be well-capable of portraying Peter Parker's vulnerability without the 'Mogadon' factor that occasionally crept in with Tobey MacGuire in Spidey's 1-3.
