Third season for Glee
| NEWS - TV NEWS |
...even before S2 comes on air. Shock as FOX renews Joss Whedon-related show!

Numfar! Do the Dance of Glee!
Not long after Joss Whedon and Neil Patrick Harris’ much-anticipated episode of the show, Dream On (as guest-director and guest-star respectively), the FOX network announced that it was renewing the show for a third season, keeping the big, scary un-fun of cancellation at bay for at least two years. What up!
It’s a Brand New Season, as looks like the Doctor Horrible duo have made the Bad FOX Gleeful.
Yes, in a suitably Whedonesque twist, it seems like Joss Whedon has actually got a show renewed.* There’s something strange going on here, but in this case, it does in fact lead to hugs and puppies (or the musical equivalent thereof), which probably occasions dancing in one’s stylish yet affordable boots.
Gleeks will surely squee at the news of Glee Season two.
The show is still on its first season, although presumably they’ll make Season Two before Season Three. Otherwise it would just be confusing. (Although introducing time travel would be a way to make the genre-bending show even more awesome. That or ninjas. Or both.)
The quirky musical comedy drama, created by Ian Brennan, Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy, and starring Matthew Morrison, Jayma Mays, Jane Lynch, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron, et al., is the highest-rated new scripted series among 18-49 year-olds this year, and averages 9.8 million total viewers a week. So, yeah, that might also have something to do with its renewal. Glee will air the last few episodes of Season One, then Season Two will air in the fall.
You can't stop the signal...I mean, singing.
* Admittedly, Dollhouse did get renewed after getting low ratings for its first season, but there were complex factors involved. Three out of Joss Whedon’s four shows (including Dollhouse) were cancelled undeservedly early, so it’s understandable that Whedon fans become a little paranoid and crotchety when it comes to the prospect of cancellation. But this news is cause for happiness. Glee, even.
