M. Knight Shyamalan leaves obscure mysteries behind for Potter-style magical action...
Here's the official HD trailer for M. Knight Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, released on 13th August...
Based on the first season of Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender (and understandably modified in title), Shyamalan brings us an apparently epic tale about a young apprentice (Noah Ringer) who travels to the North Pole with some friends (and probably some walking trees) to find a teacher in the rare magical art of 'waterbending', and from the look of the above trailer, it's a successful quest. It's all a radical departure from the director's trademark low-key horror and twist endings, which seemed to have utterly burnt themselves out in 2008's The Happening.
