Nintendo 3DS to launch October 2010
| NEWS - VIDEOGAME NEWS |
Just in time for Christmas, too...

With Hollywood awash with 3D fever, the latest brand to jump on the bandwagon is Nintendo. Rumours and speculation are rife over what other features this console will include, but one thing is for sure. You won’t need to wear 3D glasses to play it.
According to 'Industry sources' it could be in the UK as early as October 2010, which is 6 months before the original release date and conveniently just in time for Christmas. With sales of the Nintendo DS reaching 125 million in December 2009, you can’t fail to see why.
There’s no need to start panic selling your DS games just yet though, as the Nintendo 3DS will be compatible with DS games, despite it being the first in a new hardware series. More details will come to light in June, when Nintendo plan to unveil the new Nintendo 3DS at the E3 show in Los Angeles.
Maybe it’s just the traditionalist in me, but I can’t help thinking that this console would give me a headache. And even though there’s a big part of me that likes the idea of 3D without specs, I enjoy the thought of millions of people walking around with 3D glasses on, and wish that Nintendo hadn’t been too quick to ditch the goggles.
