CGI costume for Green Lantern

NEWS - MOVIE NEWS

Spandex is so noughties. Well,  if it's good enough for Iron Man...

CGI green lantern costume

Ryan Reynolds has apparently been joking on the New Orleans set of Green Lantern that Warner Bros will sneakily turn him into a Na'avi by the time the comic>movie adaptation is released next year. Reason is, he is covered in the same sort of motion-tracking balls that Sam Worthington and company were bestrewn with when playing their alter-egos in Avatar. And why?

Green Lantern's costume will be entirely CGI.

The on-set motion-capture outfit that Reynolds wears is apparently also 'lined with white LEDs', which /Film are guessing is to give the actor an ambient glow in a manner similar to that cast on fellow actors by Billy Crudup's mo-cap outfit for Watchmen. Right now we know nothing more than that Green Lantern costume designer Ngila Dickson has answered the challenge to come up with something unique in a fairly unconventional way. Even RDJ's Iron Man suit has a real-world stand in for parts of the movie/s.

The Green Lantern character is granted his powers, Mask-style, by the wearing of an alien ring that possesses great power.
