Clues emerge about Nolan's 'Inception'

The Dark Knight director may be bringing us a nice little SF mind-f***....

AICN reports that the LA Times interview with Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan has shed a little more light on the plot of the upcoming sci-fi thriller.
The set-up all seems very PKD, with touches of Dreamscape, Paycheck, Minority Reportand The Cell thrown in. Leonardo DiCaprio is a corporate espionage specialist who uses future-tech and future-pharm to plunder business secrets from his targets. Trouble is that the line between reality and fantasy can get blurred, particularly as DiCaprio's character is a grieving widower with a few loose bolts around his own psyche.
Inception has been described as 'possibly Hollywood's first existential heist movie', and fears have been aired that the esoteric shifts of reality might not make it suitable blockbuster fare. However one might remember not only that Chris Nolan gave us one of the best commercial and criticak mind-f***s ever with Memento (2001), but also that the Philip K. Dick mind-f***-ridden SF outing Total Recall broke many box-office records on its release. These days, you can go broke underestimating the audience, perhaps.
