An eclipse, a mystery and suddenly everyone in Britain is floating in Roger Christian's next 'hardcore sci-fi' movie...

I'm still working through the transcription and research on my 80-minute interview last week with Alien art director and Oscar-winning director Roger Christian, but one other thing worth picking out while this mammoth task continues (apart from the fact that Ridley Scott is shooting the Alien prequel in 3D), is news that the Battlefield Earth director's next project is a sci-fi thriller set in Britain during a mysterious cosmic event.

"I'm just now involved in a 3D project called Transmission" Christian told me last week. "and that's kind of delving into hardcore sci-fi set in modern-day Britain. There's an alien…it's a mystery - you're trying to find out what's going on, but there's been an eclipse and everything's gone dark. All the people who are above ground are just floating about an inch and a half off the ground, just frozen…"

Though many sources, including the IMDB, state that Christian is currently shooting Zounds, he was very clear in the interview that - while that film is still going ahead - Transmission is definitely his next project.
